Morgan Weathervane/Review Tapes

Hey everyone, I’ve asked this on an earlier post, figured I’d try again. A prize for the person who can give me the name of a company/person who does Morgan-shaped weathervanes for the tops of barns, etc. I’m talking a saddle¬†type morgan, not the traditional ‘weathervane horse’ we’ve all seen. I did call the Morgan Museum and they didn’t have anything, and didn’t know where to find it.

Also, does anyone know if they’re still making “Review” tapes (dvds now) of each show year “in review”? I know in Saddlebreds they did for a long time, but I didn’t know if we had any current Morgan ones. I’m looking for current show tapes to use a promo to show my clients…many are beginners and have lots of questions about show horses, and it’s nice to have something at the barn to show them that’s quick and easy like a DVD. If not, it’s ok, just wondering if anyone knew. I have all the OKC coverage from this year, but it’s not good quality and I don’t have the internet at the barn anyway.

Is this the kind of weather vane your looking for?

Thanks wctigger, that’s a nice one! I’ll look into it, it’s better than any others I’ve seen so far. Thanks again!

    Your welcome!

    Here are two possibilities:

One is a custom weathervane place, I’m sure that could make you exactly what you want, but at what price? I’m not sure :).

the other place has the saddle seat type of horse, but to me it looks like a Saddlebred.

Just for fun FYI–the “traditional weathervane” horse is actually modeled after Ethan Allen….can’t get much more Morgan than that!

I’m not a big fan of the Ethan Allen look, but I do like much of the other foundation sires’ stock.

I’ll check out those websites when I get a chance! Thanks for the responses.

    Not Ethan Allen. Black Hawk.

    Ethan Allen:

scroll down to a little more than half way

There is a Black Hawk model, but the Ethan Allen is the one that is mass (copied) produced

I found this one on ebay. It’s supposed to be a Saddlebred, but I think it could pass as a Morgan EP/Park horse.

If you’re still looking, I think the American Saddlebred Association store at the Kentucky Horse Park carries one; if they do it’s obviously ASB. If you’re intent on getting a Morgan one I don’t think I’ve ever seen one except the Ethan Allen.
