Guy is a flashy, energetic chestnut gelding, 4 white socks and flaxen mane and tail. He stands 15h and is 15 yrs old. He has a winning career as both a western (on the Morgan class A curcuit) and hunt seat pleasure/equitation horse on the East coast. Guy has started dressage training and shows great potential. Side passes, turns on the forehand/haunches, and leg yields. He has a nice head set, supple long neck, fluid gates, and all around good frame. He has lots of presence and tons of personality – the perfect horse for the confident rider. Guy trail rides, trailers, ties, clips and is excellent with the vet and farrier. Great feet – goes barefoot in the winter. Very clean in the stall and paddock. UTD vet/farrier. Asking $5000.00 – email to mmance09@aol.com.
I’m having a hard time finding a western saddle to work horses in. I used to ride arabs and always used the billy royal classic training saddle which fit them pretty well. The problem is that I can’t afford to buy one new right now and cannot find one used ANYWHERE. What other brands do you recommend for morgans? It seems like the full QH trees sit right on their withers, so are the semi-QH bars the way to go?
PS…. if anyone has one they might like to sell… I’m looking for a 15 or 15.5 in. seat.
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a set of Romel Reins for showing. I see there are different weights of ounces ranging from 20 ounces to 39.9 ounces. What is the most common and appropriate ounce Romel Reins for showing? Should the same ounce Romel Rein be used in training also? I am seeing many of the training romel reins in the 36-39.0 ounce range.
Thanks!
Barb

Hello Morgan World!!!
I’m kind of new to this Above Level thing. I have a 15 year old Morgan mare who is my world. Recently she has become a showmanship master. I always use to show her showmanship in Saddleseat attire, but I’m thinking her Saddleseat days are becoming numbered. I want to switch her over to western showmanship, but I’m not sure how Morgans show in western showmanship. She parks out like a champ, but when i try to square her up, like all other western horses, she gets confused. Do all Morgans park out, regardless of show attire? Should I make her park out for western showmanship, or teach her how to square up? Any advise is helpful. Thanks everybody.

I’m looking for a comlete show outfit size 12-14 ladies probably long. To show a copperry colored chestnut gelding in western amateur pleasure class A. If anyone knows where to buy something like this or might possibly know where one is it would bevery helpful! Thanks!!!
I was wondering what paperwork I will need to attend the Michigan Morgan shows. I am leasing a gelding, do I need a signed paper from the owner? I will bring his coggins and a copy of his papers…other than that, can anyone offer suggestions as to what I should also bring to my first show that is in 2 WEEKS!! (trying not to have an anxiety attack LOL)
Thanks!!

There was a news item a while back on the AMHA’s site about the new Western Dressage division:
http://www.morganhorse.com/news_events/latest_news/western_dressage/
Is this class being held at any shows this year? I’ve been digging around but haven’t been able to find anything about this officially being offered as a competitive event at any Morgan shows this year.
I have 2 Custom Marsha De Arriaga western oufits size 12+-14+ size. One is blue the other green. They can be see on a listing at trot.org. I hoping this is the link. http://www.extendedtrot.com/viewlisting.php?view=4230.

Thank you
