Fabulous mare offered to perfect home

I have an immediate need to place an incredible mare in the right home and wanted to tell everyone about her.  The mare is After A Fashion, by Tug Hill Commando x MO Justa Wild Melody.  She is a many time Park Harness and Park Saddle champion and is a deep, burnished chestnut with white trim.   Fashion was bred by Treble’s and trained by Tim Arcuri.  She is a bit over 15 hands, sound, gorgeous, spicy and perfectly mannered.

I have owned Fashion on two different occasions, loving every minute of both experiences.  I gave her away several years ago to an academy in New York who had a fabulous young woman student in need of a top notch show mount.  Unfortunately, economic circumstances have changed and the family can no longer keep her.

This mare is the epitome of everything a Morgan should be.  She is typey, gorgeous, spicy, willing, alert and the perfect saddle and harness partner.  While she is aged now, 21, she is totally sound and has a “Ladies Enticement” engine, for those of you who knew Lady.   She would be the perfect partner for a competent rider or driver and can easily be returned to the ring.   I don’t know if she is breedable or not, but assume not.

I have never owned a mare who touched me the way Fashion did and she deserves a lifetime home in which she can be fully enjoyed and completely cherished.  If anyone here is interested or knows of someone who may be, please contact me immediately.   It really is a top priority of mine to place her in the ideal situation and I will do anything I can to facilitate it.

Thanks so much.

Susan

Major “oops” on my part

So please read the correction I just added to the “bloodline traits” thread.

Thanks.

A number of us have now heard about the comments published in the recent issue of the Michigan Morgan Club’s newsletter or perhaps have had an opportunity to read the comments directly.   For those who have not, I will try to attach the page from the Club’s newsletter.
The comments have to do with color in the Morgan breed and virtually all of the remarks are from people in opposition to colors other than bay, black, brown and chestnut.
The comments made are pretty astonishing in the depth of misinformation regarding color genetics and breed ignorance on the part of the writers.  In fact, one author goes so far as to state that breeding for color is done by focusing on “mutant” or aberrant genes within our breed.   Another person states that the breed standard for decades has been “bay, black and chestnut” and that recent attempts to “add” color will take us further away from standard and in fact, believes that even palominos should not be granted registration.  A third writer states that breeders aiming for color are pursuing their own agenda and that only breeding for “traditional” Morgan colors should be taking place.

AMHA Litigation

This information has apparently been posted on the GoMorgans website and I assume it will be up on the AMHA website soon if not already present.

I read it through and would recommend anyone read it who is interested in having a solvent organization going forward. No one needs to be told how tough the economic times are and we are rapidly approaching the point where the cost of seemingly endless litigation could cripple the AMHA’s ability to function in a productive and necessary fashion.

I have no idea whether or not Marjorie Hazelwood and her associates have a solid case and evidence of wrongdoing. Like most matters of this type, there are likely areas which can be portrayed either way, depending upon your viewpoint. My point is not to argue one side or the other and certainly not to start an unpleasant discussion. Rather, it is to say that we all need a solvent, functioning breed registry and this is not, in my opinion, the right way to go about maintaining it. If a majority of the membership feels the current BOD and management team are lacking, then they should be voted out of the office and replaced. If more transparency is felt to be needed, the membership should make those demands through appropriate channels. If nothing else, people should attend BOD meetings and make their voices heard if they are unhappy with governance.

I would really encourage anyone interested to read this document in detail and then think for a few moments about the financial costs involved in complying with this just this first volley. This kind of destructive behavior within the organization has to stop or we are not going to have an organization at all.

Centerpiece takes Center Stage

"He's A Heartbreaker"

At least in this colt being offered for sale.

Coming three, dark bay, huge, elegant, refined colt with a perfect head set and a mile of leg under a deep, well made body.

“He’s A Heartbreaker” is aptly named. By WC Centerpiece x Glory Edition, a spectacular line bred Nocturne/In Command mare. “Heartbreaker” is one of the most promising Centerpiece youngsters offered for sale and a member of the last class of Centerpiece offspring prior to his book being closed.

This colt was Top Ten in the prestigious Circle J Futurity and has since been in training with Gerry Rushton Stables. He is ready to hook or put under saddle and Stacy feels strongly that saddle is going to be his real forte. This boy is going to be very, very tall and can set his head with the absolute best of them.

He is mannerly, kind, eager to please and has a good work ethic. He is going to be a star in the three year old saddle ranks, with the quality to be a breeding horse and the mind to be an AM mount.

There is a short video of him up on the GRS website at the onset of his long lining work. I will also attach a yearling photo.

He is priced both to sell and to be offer a fabulous ROI for his new owner.

Please contact either Stacy or me if interested.

Thanks.

Fabulous STAND AND DELIVER weanling

Absolutely senstional dark bay colt, by the many times WC Stand and Deliver and out of RRG Trophy’s Tribute, the last producing daughter of HRH Trophyet, long standing producer of champions.    Tribute is a stunning lue black mare by one of the breed’s most beauutiful stallions, Futurity’s First Edition.

This lovely colt, “Stand In Tribute” was foaled out at Raintree Morgans and is very capably managed by Barb Rudicel.  He is curvy, correct, full of himself and absolutely beautiful.  Stand and Deliver has a limited book of only ten mares and his offspring are not often available for purchase.   To add to the equation, “Tribute” is eligible not only for the World Morgan Futurity, but also for the new $10K WMF incentive, as his breeding was purchased through the AMHA Auction.

This colt is a winner through and through.  He has to be sold and is priced well below market and terms are available.  Please contact me if interested:
