I’d love to post a detailed description of how the show is going, but I’m just exhausted. I’m not really sure why. Of course I’ve been in the judge’s school most of the time, but we’ve been ringside judging for a good portion of the show. I’m so glad I’m just auditing and not going for my card. It’s so great to be able to sit in on these discussions just to be able to educate myself. I’m a long way from feeling like I have enough experience and knowledge under my belt for my opinion to be able to count for anything. But maybe one day I’ll be back in this class ready to go for my card.

From what I’ve been able to see it seems the show is going well. I’ve heard rumors that the numbers are down a bit from last year, but have not heard an official count. I have to admit, it’s a bit of a love/hate thing for me to be here. I love going to the shows and seeing the quality horses rise to the top. But, I have to say, coming as a spectator is getting old. I’m really hoping to find a way to participate in some capacity next year. Not at a high level, I’d be ok with just dorking around at some local shows. But it’s time for me to get back to riding on a regular basis. My biggest obstacle right now is having a horse to do it with… we’ll see what develops over the next few months.

The motorcycle rally starts today on the fairgrounds. Gotta love those revving Harleys, it has such a calming effect on the horses ;)
