House on left, what's left of garage door and garage, right
On October 12 my husband and I suffered an electrical problem in our garage which burned to the ground along with one of our cars. The fire then jumped to the house. No horses were injured but we lost most of the home as well as seven of our dogs. We also run a dog rescue out of our home, Dachshund Rescue NW, since 1991. So we had to shut down the dog rescue for a while when rebuilding. The horses are all okay but we will have to board them this winter when we are rebuilding in the winter snow.
I managed to save 16 more dogs and two old cats before the home burned so Dennis and I are thankful for that. I seared my lungs running in a burning house, but well worth it to save our beloved wiener dogs and two older cats. I am healing up a little each day, but it will be nice to be breathing right once again.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Margo Mossburg

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. That’s so incredibly devastating, and my heart goes out to you and your family

I am also very sorry for your recent horrible fire and the loss of dogs. I can’t imagine what you are facing. I’m not trying to be flippant, but when I read your request to keep you in our thoughts and prayers, my first thought was that I would go and light a virtual candle on your behalf. But then I thought, you’ve probably had enough of flames and that probably wasn’t the most appropriate gesture. I will be thinking of you and your critters.

Thanks. We are slowly moving along and we will be rebuilt in the spring I am thinking. Not moving forward thanks to insurance folks. But we are doing okay here I am thinking even with just half a house, garage and outbuildings gone. We still have a barn, our horses and our leftover dogs as well as three cats! That is most important of course having our beloved animals.
Sincerely,
