Cochran Auction

The Cochran Auction, November 13 & 14 at Tattersalls in Lexington, KY is shaping up to be a great one. The consignments represent some of the best Morgan Horses available today. Major consignors are Tara Farm with 8, Mears Morgans with 6, Merriehill Farm with 6, JD Stables with 6, Stove Prairie Ranch with 4, Equine Holdings, Peeper Ranch, and Fire Run Farm. These horses represent Grand National and Reginal Champions, top notch prospects, hard to find lesson horses, and breeding stock. The quality from start to finish is outstanding.

The tack auction will take place on Friday Nov. 13 starting at noon. This year we have a major tack shop inventory reduction. There are over 4,000 items including bits, harness parts, blankets, clipping supplies, farrier supplies, leather goods and everything you would expect a tack shop to have. There are also consignors with buggies, harness, bridles, bustles, and just about everything you need. We expect this years tack auction to run well into the evening hours like our tack auctions used to.

You don’t want to miss this years auction. Come relax and enjoy yourself after a hectic show season, or just to see and visit old friends. New hotel headquarters is the Crown Plaza, Campbell House, phone 859-255-4281 to make reservations by Oct. 26 to get the Cochran Auction Rate.

Thanks for posting this! Not to ring a death knoll on the show season before it’s completed, we still have Grand National to go after all. But, with the end of show season comes auction season… kinda like how as baseball winds down, football picks up! Sound like this will be a good kick-off (sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun[t]).

auctioneer: Is there any possibility of getting the catalog posted online?

I’m not the auctioneer, but the catalog is posted out on their website. A search for “Cochran Morgan Auction” should take one there and then there is a link to the catalog. Not too many horses consigned this year it appears.
