Fly spray

I have wanted to post something on this blog for a long time! So here goes, I have a 6 year old mare who hates flies and mosquitoes. We have had a really wet summer here in New York and we have really good supply of these little blood suckers! So does anyone have a really good fly spray or a recipe for it? We have not had a good ride since about 2 weeks ago because of these little problems. Thanks

    the best thing that ive used is a homemade recipe. it came with a gelding we bought who was allergic to most commercial fly sprays.
    it was 1 part water, 1 part white vinegar and 1 part avon skin-so-soft. not only does it smell wonderful, but the skin-so-soft is great for their coats, leaves them nice and soft :) just make sure you shake it before you use it because it will all separate out.
