I bought my thoroughbred horse from a lady that use to play polocrosse with him and i broke my ankle playing polocrosse and now I am retraining him for English pleasure and western pleasure and i am using a O Ring Twisted snaffel bit which is helping him calm down alot . He use to be a very “HOT” horse and would love to run but now that i am using this bit on him i was wondering if they would allow me to ride with it in a open hunter pleasure class? This is my horses first show even though i have been showing for years with my I horses but I have never shown in a hunter class. Will I be able to use this bit with my horse for this hunter class? Thanks so very much.

The Michigan All Morgan is looking for a few good people to help out at this year’s show. Let me know if you might have some free time to work a gate or clerk with the announcer. You’ll meet many new people and get to watch top competition.

Gentleman’s Pure Copper aka Tempo is a great all around horse. He does all riding disciplines very well and is a very easy keeper. He really enjoys Western Pleasure. That is his forte. He has never been shown on the Morgan Circuit, but has shown again horses that have, and he has placed first. He would make a great horse for the equestrian team or 4H. He is a great show horse, so I would like him to go to a show home. I can be reached by phone (231) 329-0607 or email. I am asking $6800.
Thanks, Angela
We all know that the hunter pleasure divison has seen a huge boom in entries and has become very popular among exhibitors and spectators. Today we see a lot of saddle seat horses switch disciplines and go into the hunter pleasure division. A lot of them do so very successfully.
I was wondering what trainers out there look for in a horse when they’re considering changing a horse to a hunter. What are conformation/movement/training,etc aspects that tell you that the horse is a good candidate for hunter pleasure. When you see english/classic pleasure horses out there, what are some signs that tell you that the horse would be better suited as a hunter or would just make a killer hunter pleasure mount.
Also, when you do decide to convert a saddleseat horse to a hunter; what are some of the aspects of training that have to go into that? What needs to be done in order for the horse to successfully transition?
I’m just very interested in this subject. I ride in the hunter pleasure division and absolutely love it. And I always find myself thinking, “I wonder how that horse would look as a hunter…”

This is a question that i have been thinking about a lot…
If Classis Pleasure is only for amateurs, why do open and junior classic championships strip?
I know that it is required that Open and Junior Horse Championships are required to strip, and Ladies, Amateur, and Junior Exibitor do not. So since classic is only open to amateurs, why does the class strip?
No one really needs to give me a straight answer, i just think it is a strange rule.

Hi Everybody!
I have heard that the “Futurity Farm” in california is up and running again. Is this the same Futurity Farm that dispersed all of it’s Morgans back in the 90’s? Sorry for being a lamebrain I was just curious considering I have a Futurity bred mare. Plus I may be heading up that way and if this is the same Farm would love to stop by. Of course with notice. LOL Anywhoo! Thanks everyone!
Sincerely,
ME

What is everyone’s take on asking judges about your performance? As a Jr. Ex. showing pleasure and equitation, I like to ask the judges what he/she liked/didnt like/ and what i could improve on my performance. Do you think this is appropriate? Some judges have been happy to answer my questions and even look through their cards, while some just scowl and give me an answer like “more consistant”.
Also, I only ask after i am done showing. ;]
