OKC Hotel!

Which hotel in Oklahoma are you staying in? Just wondering what people like! I’m in my hotel right now haha.

So post what hotel you’re staying in =]

Hunt Coats

I’m looking for a new hunt coat for next show season. I’m bored with the traditional black and navy. Where do you guys get hunt coats? I would like something with a velvet collar and I’m thinking maybe a green or tan. I have no idea where to look!  Also, has anyone ever had the custom made bibs done? (like the partial hunt shirts but its on the collar part). I have a few students who were thinking about getting them for their EQ teams and 4H but i’m kind of sceptical about them.

Thanks for the tips!

Hunter Mare for Sale

Bridget Jones (Carlyle Cartier x DVF Remember Me) 2001 Bay Mare, 15.2hh

I leased this mare for the summer with the hopes of selling to someone in the barn. Unfortunately I was unable to do so and had to send her home once I headed back to school. I’m posting this ad for her owners, George and Sue Budwit.
This is a really sweet mare who would be suitable for an experienced junior exhibitor or amateur. She has been shown both western (as a jr. horse) and hunt. She held her own in the open hunt clases this year and was always in the ribbons. Started on pattern work and over fences. She would also be suitable for dressage. This mare prefers a quiet rider and would excel with someone looking for an all around horse. She clips, loves baths, trailers and has excellent ground manners. She has no vices, is completely sound and also is an easy keeper. Very very pretty mare, could possibly go classic pleasure also with some work. Asking $8,000. Please contact Sue or George Budwit for more information. She is located at their farm. More pictures and video also available.

Advice

I have an unusual predicament with my trainer. I started riding at this particular stable in 1993 as a 13 year old. Before that I was with Quarter Horses – ;) . Anyway, my trainer at the time had a very competitve farm in the Morgan circuit, and she had quite a few top level Equitation riders. Over the years though, almost every boarder there left angrily due to my trainer (I don’t know specifics). I have had my issues with her over the years, but I’ve been there so long that I truly care for her and her well being. She has had many spells of bad luck since then including deaths in her family, illness, major money woes and most recently two more of her clients left the farm while she was gone. She is incredibly talented and isn’t a bad person, she’s trying to make a living like the rest of us. Anyway, she’s literally at her wits end and has nobody in her life to turn to. A barn FULL of horses and not a single employee (everyone has left). I’ve been bugging her to start advertising her barn (she’s not online at all), but she’s balky at the idea…it’s sooooo frusturating and I’m worried about her. I would love to hear advice from anyone about ways to improve her client relations, how to get her back in the business (I feel that she has a tarnished reputation) and ANY other tips you all may have. Thank you so much!!!!

Warning – thieves at OKC

I just got a call from our trainer.  Their truck was broken into last night.  It was in the hotel parking lot.  Please do not leave any valuables unattended.  Even locked vehicles are not safe.

Update:  Just found out that our trainer was not the only one.  About 10-12 vehicles got hit.  It was in the Saddleback Hotel lot.
