University of Connecticut Equine Program

A high school girl I know is interested in the Equine Program at the Univerity of Connecticut and was asking the adults as my lesson barn if we had heard about it. She is interested in entering an Equine program and is looking at all her options. I am not familiar with this program so I thought I would ask if anybody else has any information on (positive or negative) that I can relay to her.
Thanks!

I know that University of Connecticut has a very good program from showing against them. Their horses always were very well behaved and in good condition.

I would also suggest looking at Cazenovia College. Caz offers JV and Varsity teams for hunt seat, western and dressage. They also have a very intense Equine Business Managment Degree (I majored in History and participated on the Varsity Hunt Seat Team). There are several Morgan riders that have gone to Cazenovia and done very well.

UConn has an excellent program. John Bennett does an excellent job there.
Delaware Valley College in Doylestown,PA is also a good one. Ww are about 30 minutes from there and have had some of their students and graduates work for us. In fact Dan and Julie Williams daughter Ashley is in her freshman year there.

I also thought of Centenary College in Hackettstown,NJ.

If she is interested more in the SaddleSeat division as well as the others, I have heard only great things about William Woods in Missouri
