Year End Awards Party Fun for All at Scottfield Stables!

On January 13th, over 60 people attended the 2nd Annual Scottfield Stables Year End Awards Party. With enough food to feed an army, music, and the camaraderie that has come to be expected from the tight-knit Scottfield Team, the party was a successful one to say the least! After everyone had a chance to catch up, and eat as much food as was physically possible, the Awards portion of the day was finally kicked off. First, the 2007 season was recapped by redistributing the first place, Champion and Reserve Championship ribbons to their winners, followed by the NY Highpoint ribbons. These prizes are displayed in the Scottfield Office all through the season for everyone to see, but are surely hanging in the bedrooms of all of our proud students and breeders by now! Next, we presented special certificates to all of those Morgan-lovers who reached a milestone in 2007. Those milestones included a certificate for all of those riders who, in 2007, entered their First Competition, took their First Victory Pass, “Stepped Up” to a new division, or purchased a Morgan (our “Ownership” Certificate). We also gave certificates to all of those riders who competed at New England Regional and the Grand National Horse Shows. From there, we graduated to our “Plaque Awards.” Obviously, the prize here is a plaque. Ours are on a dark wood base with a brass horse and nameplate that is engraved with the award won and the recipient’s name. This year, our Plaque Awards were dispersed as follows: Most Improved rider, 12 & Under–Mikayla Henry, 13-18 — Emily Puthawala, Adult — Lory Kielceski; Drive and Determination — Kate Kielceski; Sportsmanship — Caitlan Reilly; Biggest Win of the Year — The Kielceski Family (Lory Kielceski & Hartland Best Man, and Kate Kielceski & Hermitage Avatar), both of whom took Victory Passes at New England Regional in 2007. This awards ceremony serves many purposes. First, it gives everyone a chance to visit those friends with whom we spend so much time in the summer, but not so much in the off-season winter months. Secondly, it is a great way to recap the season behind us, and finally, it gets everyone excited about the season to come! And boy, are we excited about 2008! Good luck to everyone…we can’t wait to see all of our friends on the rail again…soon!

    Hey Alicia,
Sounds like great fun. You always seem to be having a good time. I guess that comes from doing what you love. Thanks for sharing, and get your clients online. The more the merrier!

    Hi Black Eyed Beth!
We are located in Montrose, Pennsylvania, which is actually only 20 minutes South of Binghamton New York. We are very close to the NY border, and more than 1/2 of my clients are out-of state. I love this site, by the way! ~Alicia
