Child Safe net sites

With the way this crazy world is on the net many parents are monitoring what their children are doing /seeing/playing on the net.Webkins seems to be the rage as i’m sure most parents have heard of these furry little animals.I have also run across a great site <horse based> using a trading card system. You can get the cards at your local tack shops as well as i have seen them at target. One pack of cards will give each child about 5 horses, they then enter the number into the site much like webkins. This is a totally child safe positive place your little one can learn and explore… Below is the link and the parent page copied…. check it out the cards are only 3 dollars a pack…

Bella Sara is a horse-themed collectible card game featuring positive messages for kids 5 to 12. The Bella Sara website complements the Bella Sara cards. The cards feature images of horses and objects that kids can activate and play with online in a safe, imaginative virtual world. They can feed, care for, train, and play with their horses and also play games and solve puzzles on the site.

Rest assured that your child is participating in a safe online environment. At present, is a private user experience and interaction with others online is not possible. We keep all personal information private and take great care to keep the Bella Sara World a fun and carefree place where your child can grow and learn the many joys of caring for horses.

As a parent, you have the discretion to decide your child’s appropriate level of interaction with the Bella Sara World. You can use the parental-controls section of your child’s account to turn off or limit his or her access. When you create a parental account, a password will be sent to you by email.

Then, just go to the Parent Controls page and log in with your username (your email address) and password to adjust your child’s account settings as you see fit. Do not log in with your child’s username and password if you wish to access the parental account.

Once you have logged in, you can create a new password if you like.

What a great idea! I will certainly have my daughter check it out.

My 11 year old daughter checked this site out and really thinks it is cool. You get a horse when you register so you don’t have to have any of the cards at the start. Of course, we will be getting some soon since you can never have just ONE horse!

Just so happens that I got my 5yr old daughter the starter pack at our local tack shop for her birthday today and she loves it. She has yet to figure out that they are also an online came but she still finds the cards way cool. I think that as you collect enough cards you can not only trade them but card games of sorts with them. Very cool. One of my students told me about them and she absolutely loves them and Mom loves them too – no worries!
